Pili Nuts

Pili nuts come from the Pili tree (Canarium ovatum Engl.). Native to the Philippines, the pili tree is a hardy rainforest tree that bears a nut with a a thick black skin when ripe. Under the skin is a fibrous greenish pulp. The very hard pointed shell houses the oily and yummy nut.

Pili nuts have a rich, buttery flavor, often said to be superior to that of almonds. They are slender, with a length of appproximately 2-1/2 inches and a diameter of around 3/4”. Pili nuts have a hard shell which protects a single, sweet kernel.

When organically produced and processed using the latest healthy methods, pili nuts contain the following health benefits:

Provide a rich source of heart healthy omegas, which play an important role in brain function and may aid in the prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Contains all 8 essential amino acids, which have been found to support healthy blood sugar levels, development of muscle tissue, hormone production, energy regulation, healthy bones and skin, brain balance, liver detoxification, and nerve cell health.

The magnificent pili nut contains many bio-available minerals, including the highest magnesium content of any nut. Magnesium helps support healthy nerves, muscles and bones.

There is more Vitamin E in a pili nut than any other nut. Vitamin E promotes healthy skin, supports strong immune function, and protects against various diseases as a result of its antioxidant qualities. Vitamin E also protects against cholesterol turning into plaque, which reduces the occurrence of cardiovascular diseases.
